Fear of the Dark (Death of the Light)
Running blindly into a dark chasm
No flashlight to give me insight
As to what I am approaching
Stones to trip over lie everywhere
I must slowly feel my way
Through the maze
My mind is a haze
This clearly displays
Why I can't find my way
The way of the sun is
Dead and gone
It scorched all the walls
And burned all the grass
The ground is so cold
Hard and impersonal
The walls close me in
While the ceiling blocks thought
Once in a dream I was
A babbling soothsayer
Blind to my judgement I told
What I knew
The future holds in store
Great things full of light!
What great insight!
I must truly be right!
It's time to ignite
My fate full of might!
Awake though I am
Blind I remain
My brain full of disdain
Went falling down the drain
Lost with no future
I fear I will remain
While the haze
In my brain
Consumes my fire
I wish I could find my flashlight. . .
